Fancy some Horse?
Mar 2nd

The Japanese are true professionals when it comes to food presentation they are very artistic and show great pride in their cuisine and the way it is presented to their clientele. Here is a pic of a plate of BASASHI (horse meat) served with a slice of lemon, ginger, garlic, soy sauce. It is very delicious and a must try dish in our opinion! Basashi is very famous in the Kumamoto Prefecture down here on Kyushu island.
BBQ in Japan

“BBQ in Japan”
When you go to a BBQ in Japan don’t expect it to be the hamburgers and hot dogs that
you are used to! See what I mean?

Fresh Scallops right out of the sea
Japanese Curry and Rice
Jul 7th
Japanese Curry is one of my favorite dishes in Japan. I especially like eating at the Coco Ichiban Curry House.
When eating at “Coco Ichi” I always order the same thing! Chicken Katsu Curry with Cheese!! I have tried other things on the menu and they have been good, but nothing compares to my favorite. As you can imagine this is a pretty heavy meal so I wouldn’t recommend eating this on your lunch break on a work day. If you do you will be fighting a battle with sleep the rest of the day
Ichiban = Number One (in Japanese)
Koko = Here (in Japanese)

PS. If you are lucky enough to live in Hawaii or visit Hawaii you can eat Coco Curry there. If I remember correctly there are at least 3 or 4 Coco Curry’s in Hawaii. One in Ala Moana Shopping Center, one in McCully Shopping Center, and a couple in Waikiki.
Japanese Food: Tako Yaki “Octopus Balls”
Jul 7th

Takoyaki “Octopus Balls” Stand in Fukuoka, Japan.

Making Takoyaki with the pros!

Takoyaki otherwise known as “Octopus Balls” is a great Japanese food to sample while in Japan.
It may sound like a strange food, but it is quite delicious. Most “Gaijin” (Non Japanese) people we
know really like it. Sometimes there are other things inside like shrimp, or corn, and as you can
imagine you could put just about anything inside.

We are happy to share with you our members and subscribers one of our HIDDEN GEMS and as you can see Eric and I have backed it up with a few nice pics. for you. This little Yakitori Shop is in Miyake Honmachi in Fukuoka City its very popular, very cheap, excellent value delectable, succulent sticks of : pork, chicken, beef, liver, sausage, scallop, prawn, squid and vegetables.
They use Okinawan natural salt which really adds to the divine flavour of the scrumptious food they have on offer in this excellent little yakitori shop!. The shops name is GANBATSU-TEI which translated to English means :Fight!. They are open 7 days a week from 3:00pm-12:00 Midnight. It is Only take out and its best to call and order before you come, but dont worry if your worried about your Japanese speaking ability you can go to the shop point at the food you would like and they will cook it for you!
All sticks are only 77 Yen each compared to most shops a stick starts at 100 Yen and the price of each one depends on what it actually is. Eric and myself both love Yakitori so we often buy it from this shop our wives and kids really like it too also the prices being so cheap the wives let us buy a little extra!…a bit like our Gold Passes! We would also like to mention we dont receive any kickbacks from the places we recommend. We do it because we like to put our members and subscribers onto good things and keep them in THE LOOP!
