About Us
The Teaching English in Japan Guide (TEIJG) site is a source of information for teaching English in Japan. TEIJG is Anthony Oliver and Eric Timmer, who have over 20 years of experience living and working in Japan.Together they co-authored the book, Teaching English in Japan Guide.
Anthony and Eric produce a weekly podcast that is available on this site and on iTunes. They also produce countless videos on life in Japan, and other distinctly Japanese topics.
“The Yank”
Eric Timmer is from the United States and calls Hawaii his hometown. He graduated from
the University of Hawaii with a BA in Asian Studies. He has lived and worked in Japan for
seven years.
“The Crank”
Anthony Oliver is from Australia. His home state is the island of Tasmania.
He is a qualified chef and has certification in hotel management. He has lived
and worked in Japan for 13 years.
