You will soon discover that in Japan where western food is concerned, alot of the time you don’t exactly get what you ordered or paid for.  Expectations and reality as far as western food goes could not be more diverse alot of the time believe us!. You think steak big and juicy….well maybe, it depends where your at  how much you want to spend and if you have your credit card with you.

You think pizza western style you couldn’t be more wrong! believe us !.We wont go into details with the pizzas because we have a very special exclusive edition coming up on that one your going to love it!. So youve just ordered  a hamburger and have visions of grandeur a big juicy western style hamburger with all the trimmings and here comes the cute little waitress with a big smile on her face, with your burger?

Your thinking but I didn’t order off the kids menu! Don’t blink or you will miss it ! You soon discover its very tasty but the actual size is way beyond your original expectations! TIP: Dont expect western food items to be the same size portions as back home (The Japanese aren’t as big as western people and don’t eat enormous portions like people do in western countries). I remember ordering an apple pie and when it arrived I thought well I didn’t know apples were that scarce! The slice of pie was pretty small to say the least, and the amount of apple in it was far from generous.

Once again the flavor was pretty good but the size and content was way below what I had envisaged. WE do know where to eat and WHERE you can get large sized tasty western style portions down here in Fukuoka and we will be featuring these restaurants and hamburger shops in our special feature future editions.We are also happy to mention that alot of the Japanese family restaurants are very good value.

The menus are very extensive, fairly priced, and have a good selection of kids meals too! Great for the family budget. The names of a few of the most popular restaurants are: Royal Host, Joyful, Gusto, Volks.
